ShieldArceo® has been developed by ArcelorMittal to introduce a new material, as strong as Alusi® and as reflective as aluminium, with higher corrosion resistance.

Particularly designed for heat reflection, ShieldArceo® is the technological answer to parts where the search for durable high energy performance combined with high mechanical properties, such as can be found only in steels, remains a key priority.

ShieldArceo® is the trade name for high quality reflective material produced by Arceo. This product is suitable for automotive heat shields (motor and underbody shields), bulb shields, heating devices, reflectors, oven heat shields, etc...

ShieldArceo® is available in 2 standard finishes: Normal and Bright finish.

Technical specifications

• Alusi® substrate with PVD coatings providing IR and visible reflection enhancing layers, specially designed for heat shields.
• Technical alternative to aluminium, when very high IR and/or visible reflectivity, combined with mechanical properties, is needed.
• Same mechanical properties and formability as Alusi®, with enhanced reflectivity.
• Energetic efficiency from 92%, with high durability (salt spray and temperature resistance).
• Total reflectivity in the visible range of 82%.
• Appearance: matt aluminium with an attractive spangled look.
• High corrosion resistance: salt spray test showed no effect on energy efficiency.
• This heat shield is compatible with existing production systems.
• The product can support a broad range of deformations: bending, profiling or die forming.
• ShieldArceo® is environmentally friendly.
  • ShieldArceo® is easily and fully recycled (same end of life path as Alusi®)
  • This material complies with the RoHS directive
  • Life Cycle Analysis shows a clear reduction of Global Warming Potential and Energy Consumption when aluminium is replaced by ShieldArceo®
