As a world leader in steel manufacturing, ArcelorMittal strives to stay at the forefront in coating processes.
With R&D centres that employ 1,300 people and have an annual budget of $300 million, the group is continuously developing new products and supporting its customers by researching and developing new steel-based systems.
ARCEO, a young innovative subsidiary of ArcelorMittal, is located in Liège (Belgium) and has an industrial production line dedicated to PVD (Physical Vapour Deposition) technology. The principle of PVD consists of accelerating ions under a vacuum and colliding them with a coating material. This removes atoms away from the material and deposits them evenly across the surface of the sheet to be coated.
This technology enables many different types of new development that can be applied in a broad range of markets : energy management (solar and lighting), automotive, construction, home appliances, industry etc.
Beside this breakthrough technology, ARCEO is also a specialist in continuous coil coating process. Its painting line provides prepainted steel for ArcelorMittal customers, following all quality rules from the group.
We have recently extended our activity by proposing our know-how of coil-coater on other substrates than steel, such as stainless steel, aluminium and zinc.
We accompany our industrial customers in their projects, by placing our facility and our experience at their disposal for the hirework requirement.
